Seattle Police said Thursday that they made an arrest in the May 24 killing of Justin Ferrari -- the Seattle man who was killed by random gunfire when he was driving through an intersection in the Central District.

Andrew Jermain Patterson, 20, was arrested Thursday at a home in Federal Way. He was booked shortly after 5 p.m. on homicide investigation. He was being held at the Seattle Correctional Facility.

SPD said they made the arrest after combing through surveillance footage and working with the gang unit to chase down leads on the suspect.

The 42-year-old Ferrari died after being hit by a stray bullet while driving family members to a Memorial Day weekend getaway. The incident occurred near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Way and E. Cherry St.
