Seattle isn't the worst city in the world for driving after all

SEATTLE – Driving in Seattle stinks. Traffic jams. Construction. Drivers who can’t use the left lane correctly.

But take heart – at least you’re not driving in Honolulu. That was just listed as the worst city in America for driving, according to the Driver Satisfaction Index by navigation app Waze. It’s the second year for the index.

The index is based on multiple factors including traffic density; road quality; length of traffic jams; difficulty commuting to and from work; slow speeds during rush hour; construction; accidents; weather; and availability of gas stations and car services.

Seattle is ranked as the 68th best city in the world out of 186. It’s 12th in America.

Honolulu is ranked 152nd worldwide, but dead last in America.

After Honolulu, the worst American cities are

  • Portland
  • Los Angeles
  • San Francisco
  • Jacksonville, Fla.
  • Austin, Tex.
  • New York City
  • Myrtle Beach, S.C.
  • Miami
  • Seattle
