SEATTLE -- Tens of thousands of gamers from around the country will be in downtown Seattle this weekend for the PAX Prime convention, a three-day game festival for tabletop, videogame and PC gamers.
The weekend-long event at the Washington State Convention Center is the largest gaming festival in the nation, say organizers. It features free game playing areas, gaming tournaments where winners can score big prizes, panel discussions, "nerdcore" concerts and an exhibiton hall filled with booths displaying the lastest from top gaming publishers and developers. Many enthusiastic partipants are expected to dress up in costume.
Seattle-based game developer Penny Arcade organizes the annual PAX convention, which draws major game developers, including Valve and Microsoft.
PAX Prime 2011 will be August 26, 27 and 28. For more information, go to the PAX Prime website.
