The debut trailer for Dead Island, that caused quite a stir when it was released, has won a prestigious award at a film and advertising festival in Cannes.
Dead Island is a video game currently in development by Poland based studio, Techland. Their debut trailer for Dead Island took the Internet by storm with its haunting soundtrack and unique “forwards-backwards” sequence of family tragically caught in the middle of a zombie attack.
The trailer took the Gold Award for Internet Film at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, a "global meeting place for creative professionals in the communications industry,” beating out major brand competitors like Google, Ikea, Kraft Foods and Volkswagen.
Dead Island is currently set to be released in September 2011. The trailer can be viewed at the above link. Warning: The game is going to be a horror-survival style game, so the trailer has some graphic elements.
