In an unprecedented event for Seattle, all four major news stations in the city are collaborating to air a Washington state Gubernatorial Debate.
When Democrat Jay Inslee and Republican Rob McKenna meet Thursday night, their one hour debate will be seen on KING, KOMO, KIRO and KCPQ as well as NWCN. Other stations across the state will also air the debate.
The debate begins at 9 p.m. KING 5 will also livestream the debate on KING5.com and we will have a live blog that will include updates from the debate and fact checking of the candidates.
Here's a behind-the-scenes look at the studio where the debate will be held during Thursday afternoon's production walk-through. KING 5's Jean Enersen will be one of the members of the Seattle news media asking questions of the candidate.
The moderator will be Glenn Johnson, recently retired professor from Washington State University. No matter which station in Seattle you watch, chances are some of the reporters you see learned their craft from Glenn. If you have ever been to a WSU football game in Pullman, you know his voice. He's the public address announcer known for saying, "And that's another Cougar first down."
