LACEY, Wash. – A suspected drunk driver faces vehicular homicide charges after colliding with a motorcycle Wednesday night, killing the rider.
It happened at 6:16 p.m. on Steilacoom Road near Salmon Lane east of Lacey, says the Washington State Patrol.
The 55-year-old victim was riding a 1971 BMW motorcycle westbound when a 1988 Dodge Dakota heading the other direction crossed the double yellow centerline, causing the two vehicles to collide, say troopers.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Dakota was arrested for vehicular homicide. A blood test was given and he was booked into the Thurston County Jail.
