Boise State's Brotzman blows BCS shot

Boise State was making a strong case, despite their critics, for a place at the BCS national championship table. But against the Nevada Wolfpack on Nov. 26, 2010, they squandered a 17-0 lead. Then, they watched as normally reliable kicker Kyle Brotzman missed a 26-yard field goal as time expired, then a 29-yarder in overtime. Nevada's Anthony Martinez did not make the same mistake. His 34-yard attempt in OT was true, giving Nevada a 34-31 win. The cost of the loss for Boise State was a change in travel plans from the Rose Bowl to the Las Vegas Bowl.
