Northwest hummingbirds brave the snow and cold

We have several Anna's hummingbirds that winter over on Lake Tapps. To keep the hummingbird feeders from freezing we hang one near a flood light. That way the hummers can fuel up in the morning before we get up. They eat insects but use the sugar water for energy before foraging
