ANACORTES, Wash. – Police say someone who knew how to disable the alarms broke into Anacortes High School and vandalized the building and equipment.
Anacortes police are reviewing security video from Jan. 30 when a motion alarm went off inside the school. The video shows two people, wearing camouflage clothing and paintball-style masks, entering the school.
The suspects apparently used a key to get inside the building. They also seemed to be familiar with how the alarm worked because they are seen on the video using the alarm keypad to disable the system.
Police say the suspects broke and disabled several video cameras. They also damaged ceiling tiles when they disabled the cameras.
Then, they removed and vandalized several doors. The doors were discovered leaning against the auditorium stage in what police call a "displayed fashion."
Anyone with information about who the suspects are is asked to call the Anacortes Police Department at (360) 293-4684 or the Anacortes Police tip-line at (360) 299-1985.
