BOISE -- The Cathedral of the Rockies in downtown Boise is celebrating its golden anniversary at its 11th street location. Sunday, they opened a time capsule buried 50 years ago.

“There are two boxes in there and one is from 1960 and the other we believe is from the 1903 church and we believe there may be stuff in there from the 1875 church,” said Senior Pastor Steve Tollefson.

Inside the capsule were newspapers, bibles, blueprints and photos.

The church will first see if the state archivist wants any of the items, then in December the church will re-seal the capsule with new
items from 2010.
