Scouting out snow depths at Artist Point
Searching for a way to the top of Artist Point
We got about three-quarters of the way up to Artist Point before the snowcats essentially got stuck in the snow. The warm weather turned the snow soft and the snowcats couldn't get enough traction to get up the hillside. We tried a few different routes, but had no luck. Fortunately, we were only about a 1/4 mile from the top, so walking the rest of the way was an option.
