VANCOUVER, Wash. - Tuesday marks the 30th anniversary of the big eruption of Mount St. Helens.
Visitors will be able to return to remember and see how the volcano looks now.
The Washington State Transportation Department re-opened Highway 504, the Spirit Lake Highway, Saturday morning. The road goes to the Johnston Ridge Observatory, which is reopening after being closed for the winter.
KING 5 will air a special commemorating the eruption anniversary "Mount St. Helens:30 Years Later" at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18.
