EVERETT, Wash. - Snohomish County Deputy Executive Mark Soine resigned Monday, telling Executive Aaron Reardon he wanted to refocus his energies and devote time to family obligations.
The 59-year-old worked for Reardon for five years and previously worked as a city attorney for Everett.
The Daily Herald of Everett reports Soine took the blame for shoddy record-keeping in the county's equal employment opportunity office and was the focus of an audit that criticized a lack of communication in county government offices.
His last day will be in June. He earned $161,000 a year.
