NAMPA -- Voters in Canyon County's two largest cities have decided to keep their current mayors.

Generally, it was a good election for incumbents in the Treasure Valley.

"Job's not finished. There's a lot of good things that we've started in the last eight years that I'd like to see come to completion," said Nampa Mayor Tom Dale.

Dale was a won his third term with more than 70 percent of the vote Tuesday.

Watch for Dale to back a new library and a new police station.

Caldwell Mayor Garret Nancolas has won a fourth term.

"We've had to overcome the stigma of crime, we've had to overcome the stigma of not being progressive, we've had to overcome the stigma of being a bedroom community.  We're working hard to do that.  We've come a long ways, we still have a ways to go," said Nancolas.

In races for the Boise City Council, challengers opposed to a streetcar proposal lost.

Incumbents Vern Bisterfeldt and Maryanne Jordan held onto their seats.

Newcomer TJ Thomson defeated David Litster for the seat being vacated by Jim Tibbs.

In Meridian, Brad Hoaglun and Keith Bird won city council seats.

Voters in Eagle elected Norm Semanko and John Grasser to the city council.  Jeanne Jackson-Heim lost her re-election bid by 58 votes.

In Star, 70 percent of the voters said no to buying the River Birch golf course and building a new pool.
