DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — He lost big in 2012. So this time, Texas Gov. Rick Perry is pursuing a more methodical approach as he considers running for president again.
He is on on a two-day Iowa trip, meeting privately with political leaders and business groups in the traditional leadoff presidential voting state.
Even his close allies say, while not impossible, a comeback from such a steep fall just two years ago, is very difficult.
On Thursday, Perry met privately with Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds, and is headlining a GOP fundraiser in Des Moines.
