JOHNSTON, Iowa (AP) — Voters in a suburban Des Moines school district have approved a $41 million bond measure that will help pay for a new high school.
In a special election Tuesday, nearly 67 percent of Johnston Community School District voters backed the measure. A $51 million measure was defeated in September.
The $41 million will help the district pay for the $81 million high school and other projects, including renovations to the current high and middle schools, and an elementary school.
Johnston is situated on the northwest side of Des Moines.
