A defeated Republican candidate has returned to the Nevada Senate race, but he won't be on the ballot in November.

Danny Tarkanian — who finished behind fellow Republican Sharron Angle in the June primary — is involved with a new political committee that intends to run TV ads dissecting Sen. Harry Reid's voting record.

Government records show the Las Vegas-based group — Harry Reid Votes — was formed last week. Tarkanian said Monday the group will remind voters of the "poor decisions" Reid has made for Nevada.

It has not yet reported raising any funds.

Tarkanian is the son of legendary University of Nevada, Las Vegas, basketball coach Jerry Tarkanian.
