PORTLAND -- A teenager shot late Friday night at the Holgate TriMet Transit Station died early Sunday morning. Police began an investigation Monday into what they said may have been a gang-related homicide.

Abukar Madey, 15, died from a gunshot wound to the head, according to the Oregon State Medical Examiner.

Just before midnight Friday, police also found a 22-year-old Lucio Alejandro Ramirez-Navarro shot several times at Southeast 92nd Avenue and Southeast Holgate Boulevard. He was taken to the hospital with traumatic injuries, said Sgt. Pete Simpson with Portland police.

Officers in the area then found Madey on the stairs leading to the MAX platform with a gunshot wound to the head.

Police said Madey and Ramirez knew each other and Ramirez was a member of a Hispanic street gang in Portland.

Detectives said the shooting may have been gang-related. Anyone with information was asked to call police at 503-823-3333.
