ST. HELENS, Ore. -- The community of St Helens is rallying around the girls soccer team at St. Helens High School.

Over the weekend someone cut the lock on a storage shed near the school's athletic fields and stole the equipment inside, according to head coach Simon Date.

"We fund raise to get this stuff. It's frustrating. It feels like a little bit of a violation," Date said. The team lost soccer balls, training gear and some medical supplies.

Players were also frustrated.

"I was really shocked. I didn't think anyone would do that," said sophomore Genesis Hansen. "I was kind of mad because it's kind of violating our whole deal."

The equipment hasn't been found, but Date said the team has received many offers of help to replace the gear.
