PORTLAND – A man has been sentenced for his role in the heroin-related death of a Milwaukie High School student two years ago.

Aleksey Dzyuba was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Monday after he was convicted on two counts of distribution of heroin. The co-defendant, Joann Buchholz, is scheduled to be sentenced on June 17.

The duo is suspected of selling heroin to 17-year old Toviy Sinyayev in Northeast Portland in March, 2011. The teen later died after overdosing on the drug.

The suspects were arrested after Sinyayev's mother worked with undercover police on the case.
