TIGARD, Ore. -- A pedestrian died after being struck by the WES commuter train Thursday morning.
The incident was in downtown Tigard, at Southwest Commercial and Main.
TriMet spokeswoman Roberta Altstadt said the pedestrian was trespassing on the right-of-way under the 99W bridge, north of the Tigard Transit Center.
A preliminary investigation suggested the death was a suicide, police said.
Altstadt said WES service was halted at the stop and shuttle buses were put in place. She said service was expected to resume in the afternoon.
