PORTLAND – A Portland man was arrested on weapons charges after bringing a gun into a Northeast Portland barbershop Tuesday, police said.
Officers got a report that a man with an UZI-type firearm got out of a car, hid the gun in his jacket and walked into the barbershop at 1222 NE Alberta Street.
The suspect left the shop and got into a car before being questioned by police. Officers said they found the 9mm rifle in the back seat. The gun was not loaded and no ammunition was recovered.
Police arrested 30-year-old Ryan Presley for unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of a short-barreled firearm.
Investigators said Presley legally bought the gun and concealed it in his coat so he could show it to a friend.
