EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- Two Portland people arrested in September on accusations they tried to steal vending machines from a Fred Meyer store in Albany have been charged in Eugene with trying to flee from police in a stolen rental truck.
Police said 43-year-old Lance Allan Harris and 26-year-old Natasha Leanne Lucero were held Thursday on vehicle theft and eluding charges.
The Eugene Register-Guard reported they were arrested after a chase Wednesday at speeds approaching 90 mph.
Officers stopped the truck with a spike strip. Court records show the two were not allowed to have contact with each other after their arrest in Linn County on theft and methamphetamine charges.
Harris is charged in Benton County of stealing a vending machine from a Corvallis store.
