HILLSBORO, Ore. – Police conducted drills in the Hillsboro area Wednesday afternoon involving a staged shooting scenario.

The first drill began at 4:30 p.m., at the new Kaiser Permanente facility at 19400 NW Evergreen Parkway. The hospital is not actually open yet, but police used it for what they described as “active shooter" drills.

The second drill began at 7:30 p.m.

Police assured the public ahead of time that if they saw anything out of the ordinary, it was just a drill.

About 100 people took part in the training.
