A man who was struck by a train in the tunnel north of King Street Station early Saturday morning died of his injuries.
Police say at about 4:29 a.m. officers responded to a report of a train/pedestrian collision in the tunnel north of the 300 block of South Jackson Street.
The 33-year-old man was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He died at the hospital.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the pedestrian was struck by a northbound BNSF freight train approximately mid-way in the tunnel north of King Street Station.
Seattle Police Traffic Collision Investigation Squad detectives are investigating.
