VANCOUVER -- Officers nabbed two suspects who allegedly robbed a Subway and a Chevron Sunday morning in Vancouver, police said.
At 7:45 a.m., a man walked into the Subway restaurant on 1125 SE 163rd Avenue and demanded money while implying he had a weapon. Once he got the cash, he left, but not without grabbing a bag of Sun Chips on the way out, said Sgt. Creager with the Vancouver Police Department.
A few minutes later, the Chevron was robbed at 16406 SE 26th Street, but someone spotted the vehicle and license plate as the suspect fled, Creager said.
Police spotted the vehicle in the 15500 block of East Mill Plain Boulevard and took chase. The suspects attempted to flee and were pursued into Portland.
The suspect’s vehicle went off the road near Northeast 148th Avenue and Northeast Halsey Street and came to a stop.
Police arrested 21-year-old Jerry Venters (pictured left) and 27-year-old Eric Leonard (pictured right) and booked them in the Multnomah County Jail pending extradition to Washington, Creager said.
