GOVERNMENT CAMP -- Cascade snow levels soared to near 7,000 feet by Monday morning and strong south wind gusts of around 60 mph will be possible through Monday at pass level.

More: Heavy rain, high winds all day

Instead of snow, meteorologists said rain may fall in the mountains Monday and Tuesday, during the latest storm.

The Mount Hood ski resorts haven't yet determined whether their lifts will be fully opened by Thanksgiving, but a strong snow system should blanket the mountain by the middle of next week, meteorologists said.
