PORTLAND -- Deputies are seeking tips to help them find a fraud suspect who is accused of stealing from her cancer-stricken mother.

Renee Smith, 50, was recently indicted on several charges including aggravated identity theft, criminal mistreatment and fraudulent use of a credit card.

Detectives said earlier this year Smith took control of her mother’s credit card when her mother fell into a coma after suffering a bad reaction to her cancer treatment.

Smith, who also uses the alias Renee Mott, used that card roughly 24 times between April and June of 2012, investigators said. She reportedly racked up more than $3,000 in charges.

If you have any information on Smith’s whereabouts was urged to call the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 503-261-2810
