PORTLAND -- The Rev. Trudy Bradley of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in downtown Portland has died from injuries she suffered last Friday when struck by a vehicle in Pendleton.
Bradley, 64, was taken to St. Anthony hospital in Pendleton, then airlifted to Oregon Health & Sciences University in Portland.
She was an assistant minister overseeing the children's programs and also was charged with church administrative duties.
Minister Anton DeWet sent the following notice to his congregants:
"It is with great sadness that we must share the news that Rev. Trudy Bradley has died as a result of her injuries in a pedestrian accident. We were with her last night, along with her husband and family and the conference minister from the Disciples of Christ, when she passed. Her passing touches each of us deeply and leaves an enormous emptiness in our church family.
We are family and we find strength in our support for one another and through our faith in Jesus Christ. Tomorrow as we gather for worship we will remember and honor Trudy together, and we will especially focus on helping our children and youth in facing this loss.
May we each continue to hold in our prayers Dan Bradley, all of Trudy’s family and each person touched by this tragedy."
