PORTLAND -- With temperatures soaring into the triple digits as the week comes to a close, our meteorologists are predicting record-tying temperatures at Portland International Airport Thursday and a Friday just shy of the record.

We thought we'd share what the "magic numbers" would actually be.

In order to tie the record for August 16, set in 1977, we'll have to hit 102 degrees Thursday. The record for Friday is a bit tougher: 105 degrees, also set in 1977.

The all-time record high measured at PDX was on August 8, 1981, when the temperature hit 107 degrees.

The normal temperature for August 16 and 17 is 81 degrees.
