PORTLAND -- A 13-year-old girl was pulled from a city pool unconscious and not breathing Thursday, according to Mark Ross with Portland Parks and Recreation.
Five lifeguards rescued the girl from the deep end of the Wilson Pool just before 4 p.m., Ross said.
The lifeguards were able to open her airway and get her breathing again, before paramedics arrived, Ross said. They also gave her oxygen.
Then, she was rushed to a local hospital. Witnesses said the girl was sitting up and talking by the time she was transported to the hospital.
Her name and condition have not yet been released.
The Wilson Pool is located at 1151 SW Vermont Street, in Portland.
