PORTLAND -- The owner of Mount Hood Ski Bowl has agreed to pay $500,000 to a man he struck in a hit-and-run two years ago.

Witnesses said they saw Kirk Hanna driving away from the early morning May 23rd crash in 2010.

Robert Skof does not remember what happened. He was told by arriving paramedics that he had been hit hard by a car and lay still.

Police were later led to Hanna's sport SUV. He pled guilty to DUII.

Skof told KGW the last two years have been difficult, both mentally and physically.

"At one point in time I thought, 'quit with everything,' even committing suicide," he said, "But I thought to myself, and my soul, and talk to my parents, Robert don't do this. Fight."
