PORTLAND -- A van crashed right through the front doors of a Northeast Portland Walgreens late Tuesday night, causing extensive damage.
No one was injured when the van crashed into the building at 11:35 p.m.
The van finally came to a rest inside the store after destroying a metal bench just outside the entrance. The crash also shattered the glass entry doors and damaged a cash register and other display items.

The store had closed for business at 10 p.m. so no customers were inside when the crash occurred.
At 7 a.m., Wednesday the glass was still scattered along the sidewalk on N.E. 33rd Avenue and the mangled metal of the bench was still spread across the concrete. Also, the entrance was still boarded up just an hour before the scheduled 8 a.m. store opening.
There is no word on the cause of the crash.
The Walgreens is located at the intersection of N.E. 33rd Avenue and N.E. Killingsworth.
