ASTORIA --The Astoria-Megler Bridge will close overnight starting at 6:30 p.m. due to strong winds that are threatening to detach segments of decking used by contractors.
The bridge closed to traffic Monday morning but then reopened in the afternoon when winds from a new storm system loosened panels that were being used as a deck by painters.
One lane was opened shortly before 11 a.m. after crews assessed the situation at first light.
