SALEM, Ore.. -- Detectives arrested a Salem woman that undercover agents said paid to have her ex-husband killed. Connie Lynn Anderson, 33, of Salem, was arrested Tuesday afternoon at her workplace at Independence Rehabilitation & Healthcare.
The investigation began in late October when 36-year-old Kip Anderson, called Corvallis police saying he had heard that Connie was trying to hire someone to kill him.
A Salem police undercover agent met with Connie Anderson, who gave the officer money to have Kip Anderson killed, police said.
Salem Police Lt. Steve Birr said Anderson was offering so little money for the hit that it was "absurd."
"I don't know that anyone would have done that for that small amount of money," Lt. Birr said.
Lt. Birr noted that while the money wasn't much, Anderson seemed very willing to have her ex killed, and police "weren't willing to take that chance."
She was charged with conspiracy to commit murder, solicitation to commit murder, and attempted aggravated murder. Investigators said at no time was Kip Anderson in any imminent danger after he called police.
The Andersons were divorced last year after ten years of marriage and have two children from that marriage.
