PORTLAND -- A large group of young men stole thousands of dollars worth of designer jeans from upscale stores in the Portland area and resold many of them for profit, according to a report in the Oregonian.
The online report cites court documents and investigators. The organized theft ring called themselves the "Mini Boys" and would hit the stores, including Nordsrom's, at closing time, grabbing stacks of jeans and sprinting to a waiting car.
On Thursday, six juveniles aged 16 and 17 and five young men aged 18 to 20 were arraigned on charges of first-degree theft and organized retail theft, a felony, according to the Oregonian.
Some of the stolen jeans retailed for as much as $275 a pair. In all, police said the theft ring took at least $10,000-worth of designer jeans.
