PHOENIX, Ariz. – More than $1.4 million in taxpayer refunds was available to Oregonians that were returned due to postal errors, according to the IRS.

In Multnomah County alone, $123.5 million was available from nearly 108 million misaddressed returns, IRS Commissioner Doug Schulman said.

"We are eager to get this money into the hands of taxpayers, so don't delay if you think you are missing a refund," said IRS Commissioner Doug Schulman.

Do you have an unclaimed refund?

All returned checks could be claimed – by updating addresses with the government, Schulman added.

Address updates could be made online at the IRS Web site.

The average check was about $1,100, Schulman said.
