CLACKAMAS, Ore. -- The daughter of a woman who was run over and killed on Highway 26 near Rhododendron last month was arrested Wednesday night.

On February 25, 52-year-old Bridget Maureen McGowan was found dead about 9:15 p.m. on Highway 26.

Investigators said Wednesday McGowan's daughter, 19-year-old Samantha Daniels of Southeast Portland, and her boyfriend were visiting McGowan when an argument between mother and daughter ensued.

Oregon State Police detectives said not long after, McGowan fell out of the passenger side of the pickup truck, then was run over.

The pickup was later pulled over by police and officers said Daniels was at the wheel.

An autopsy showed that McGowan died from injuries likely sustained from being run over by a vehicle, according to the Oregon State Medical Examiner's office.

Daniels was arrested on outstanding warrants for a probation violation on heroin possession, and failing to appear on a theft charge after coming in for an interview with detectives Wednesday.

According to OSP Lt. Greg Hastings, Daniels and her boyfriend had been living in California but were now living out of the truck's camper.

OSP said Daniels also used a fake name during the investigation. Clackamas County District Attorneys were investigating the case.
