DNA testing has solved a 35-year-old mystery in Linn County, bringing closure to the grieving family of a missing woman.

Samilla Stewart, 36, disappeared back in December of 1974. Searchers found her car in the Santiam River, but not her body.

About four years later, two fisherman found a skull on the riverbank, less than two miles from where the car was found.

Now, DNA tests have confirmed that the skull is from Stewart’s body.
