ASTORIA, Ore. -- Astoria police say a deck outside a room of the Red Lion Inn of Astoria has collapsed, dropping five men into a mooring basin of the Columbia River.
Sgt. Brian Aydt says by the time police responded to a call about the collapse that occurred about 5:00 last night, all of the men had gotten out of the water.
One man had a cut finger but declined treatment.
Aydt says he doesn't know what caused the deck to give way. He estimates the men fell 10-12 feet to the water.
A front desk agent at the Inn said no one was available last night to talk about the incident.
