EUGENE, Ore. — The FBI says four shots hit a federal courthouse in Oregon late Wednesday night or early Thursday, with three of them breaking windows in U.S. Rep. Peter DeFazio's office. No one was in the office at the time.
The FBI said Thursday it's not known whether the Democratic congressman's office in Eugene was the intended target.
Agency spokeswoman Beth Anne Steele says she's not sure whether the building had surveillance video.
The FBI said that between 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday, three shots broke windows in DeFazio's office on the second floor. A fourth bullet hit the building wall in an area above DeFazio's office. No details were released about the type of ammunition.
