FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Two teens were arrested Tuesday evening in connection with the death of two young Forest Grove sisters, police said.

Abigail Robinson, 11, and her 6-year-old sister, Anna Dieter-Eckerdt, were playing in the leaves along a roadway near their home when they were reportedly struck by a vehicle Sunday night.

Anna died at the scene. Abigail died at Randall Children’s Hospital Monday night.

Cynthia Garcia Cineros, 18, of Forest Grove was arrested with her boyfriend, Mario Echeverria, 18, of Cornelius, according to Capt. Mike Herb of the Forest Grove Police Department.

Cineros was allegedly driving the vehicle, Herb said. Echeverria was the alleged passenger. 

Cineros was charged with two counts of failure to perform duties of a driver to injured persons.

Echeverria was charged with tampering with evidence and hindering prosecution.
