PORTLAND -- A funeral procession was held Wednesday for fallen firefighter John Percin, Jr. of West Linn. Percin died on June 30 while battling the 2,000-acre Yarnell Hill Fire in Arizona.
Shortly after 11 a.m., a plane carrying Percin's cremated remains landed at Portland International Airport. Firefighters escorted the urn along with a flag and his pictures south on Interstate 205 toward the Lake Oswego fire station where it is available for public viewing.
All on-ramps to -205 were closed during the procession.

Wed. July 10 – Fri. July 12
The urn will remain under a vigil that includes a rotating “watch” of fire service personnel and honor guards.
Thur. July 11
The Lake Oswego fire station will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the public to pay their respects to Percin.
Fri. July 12
The family of John Percin, Jr. will hold a private memorial service.
Sat. July 13
A public memorial service is planned at 1 p.m. Rolling Hills Church in Tualatin.
