PORTLAND -- An ER nurse who worked at Legacy Emanuel hospital was arrested on charges he sexually assaulted several women while he was on duty.
Jeffrey McAllister, 38, faces sex abuse charges after police said he took advantage of women while performing duties as a registered nurse at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center's emergency room.
McAllister is also a former Beaverton police officer.
Investigators began looking into the allegations since April and law enforcement arrested him Wednesday at his home.
KGW spoke to one of the victims, who wanted to remain anonymous due to safety reasons. She said McAllister sexually assaulted her while she was being treated at Legacy Emanuel hospital in January.
She thinks he may have preyed on her because because she is a recovering addict. Despite being groggy while undergoing treatment, she said she still knew he was assaulting her.
“I was aware of what was happening,” she told KGW news. “I said ‘no’ many times.”
The woman has since moved out of her home, fearing that she could be victimized again.
McAllister has not worked for Legacy Emanuel since April, 2013.
Police said there could be more victims. Anyone with additional information or who may have been victimized was asked to call Portland Police.
