HAPPY VALLEY, Ore. – Three young men were arrested for stealing street signs in Clackamas County.

Police in Happy Valley stopped a car around 3 a.m. Saturday after people at a home on Southeast Willet Drive had seen a man in their yard and a ladder had been placed over their gate.

Police pulled over a Jeep Cherokee and saw a stack of street signs inside.

The driver, 18-year-old Grant Lindquist, eventually said he was having trouble with his girlfriend, investigators said. He said he and his friends, 23-year-old Justin Peterson and 18-year-old Tyler J. Robinson (pictured, left to right), picked out signs they thought she would like to have.

One of the signs taken was from Love Court in Wilsonville.

The three were arrested for theft. Signs were taken from areas of Newberg, Wilsonville and Oregon City, police said.
