ASTORIA, Ore. - A Facebook message seen by an Astoria police officer helped land an 18-year-old suspect in jail New Year’s Day.
Around 1 a.m., Astoria police found evidence two cars had been hit on 5th Street.
Later in the day, officers got Facebook messages from two people who said Jacob Cox-Brown had posted this on his Facebook page: "Drivin drunk... classsic ;) but to whoever's vehicle i hit i am sorry. :P."
Officers went to Cox-Brown's house and found a vehicle that had damage that matched the victims' cars.
Cox-Brown was charged with two counts of failing to perform the duties of a driver.
