GOVERNMENT CAMP, Ore. -- A mother who gave birth at a gas station off Highway 26 on Mount Hood last weekend when her water broke was recovering with her new daughter.
It turned out it would be a breach delivery - meaning the umbillical cord was wrapped around the baby.
Fortunately, two operating room technicians happened to be there at the time.
"We put some towels and some blankets down on the floor and laid her down and she had two little blue little legs hanging out of her and that just set alarms off in my head," Sean Means said.
Means assessed that the cord was not around the baby's neck.
"There was a couple three or four seconds, of 'come on baby, come on, let's breathe,' and once baby took that first breath it was a big sigh of relief, he said.
Baby Jennifer was born about ten minutes before crews from the Hoodland Fire Department made it to the scene.
