Officer stands in for dad at donut day

A Colorado police officer saved the day by filling in for dad during Donuts with Dad day at Dartmouth Elementary School in Aurora.

Abygale-Rose's dad moved out of state and she was very upset and didn't want to go to school Friday because she didn't have a dad by her side.

According to a post on their department Facebook page, her mom reached out to see if an officer could swing by the school to brighten her daughter's day.

Sergeant Mike Pitrusu of the District 1 PAR Unit volunteered his time to stop by the school for some donuts and to show off his patrol his patrol car to the kids.

After the event Abygale-Rose's mom told the police department, "I can't even come close to expressing my gratitude for the Aurora Police Department, and especially Officer Mike Pitrusu. He is a remarkable man with such a wonderful talent with kids, and just made my daughter's day. He made MY day! She will be talking about this day for weeks to come!"
