KIRKLAND, Wash. - After a citizen's tip about an erratic driver led a State Patrol trooper to stop a Ford Excursion in Kirkland for equipment and driving violations, the trooper found 31 pounds of marijuana on the back seat.

Trooper Dan McDonald says 68-year-old Byron Gilbert Pickle of California was arrested for driving under the influence of marijuana. Troopers got the tip late Thursday night.

The Eastside Narcotics Task Force, which includes state troopers and officers from several nearby jurisdictions, seized the marijuana, packaged in clear plastic gallon bags, as well as the vehicle and $2,700 in cash.
