PORTLAND – Heavy rains on the Oregon Coast could cause landslides and flooding through Wednesday evening.
A Flood Watch remained in effect through Wednesday evening for the coast and Coast Range of northwest Oregon and southwest Washington and the Willapa Hills of Washington, according to the National Weather Service.
In Seaside, workers at some businesses were stacking sandbags to protect buildings. Are residents said they were anticipating some flooding and high water.
Forecasters said an additional two to four inches of rain was expected through Wednesday. Rivers were not expected to reach flood stage.
Portland could see up to 1.5 inches, forecasters said. Temperatures would remain fairly mild, with highs in the low 60s through Thursday.
